I took my first underwater photographs in 2011 with a small waterproof compact camera and a childhood fascination that never really left me. What began as simple curiosity slowly became a way of seeing and noticing the human form, the play of light, and the quiet world beneath the water's surface; an observation of water that would later shape my approach to Waterscapes, my ongoing exploration of how the human body and light behave in aquatic spaces.
Over time, this practice grew into the Nereids Photo Project, the center of my underwater fine art work. Inspired by the ancient sea nymphs, the project explores the feminine presence in water. Rather than recreating a myth, it captures a quiet, contemporary dialogue between the female figure, its movement, and the shifting nature of the sea. For me, the Nereids are not characters to replicate, but a way to capture the fluidity of water and the profound transformation of the female form underwater. It is an aesthetic direction that also informs my Aesthetic Styles, the different visual approaches that shape the mood and character of my imagery.
My underwater work includes open‑sea sessions, pool studies and surface‑based wetlook imagery, always guided by the same intention: to let the water shape the moment. I approach underwater photography not as performance, but as a space where the body stops posing and simply becomes.
Today, the Nereids Photo Project continues as an evolving visual archive (exhibited, published and shared across platforms) but at its core it remains what it has always been: a personal journey into the quiet, instinctive world beneath and around the surface, a journey reflected across my Fine Art Galleries.
